Salesforce.com is releasing a new version of its Chatter Mobile app, promising that it will enable users to take any business action instantly while on the go. Version 4.0 will allow mobile workers to edit customer records, view dashboards, and create custom actions from within the app, which according to Salesforce will help them be more productive in every micro-moment.

Salesforce.com hopes to change that with customizable enterprise mobile apps that increase productivity by allowing mobile workforce to perform custom business actions anytime and anywhere.

Here is a quick walkthrough of the new Chatter Mobile features:

Record Editing: Users can edit and update account and sales information, customer cases, marketing campaigns or any other type of information in Salesforce apps directly from their mobile devices.

Viewing: Users will be able to view analytics dashboards, prioritize tasks and act on information in real time from their mobile devices.

Custom actions: Companies will be able to create a custom action for various business scenarios, such as log a support request, create a work order, approve a candidate or draft an invoice. This will allow users to advance any sales, service, marketing or custom business action on the spot.

The Salesforce Chatter Mobile is now available for iOS and Android, and it is free to use for all current Salesforce.com customers.

The new tools for record editing, viewing, and custom actions are expected to roll out for all iOS devices by the end of this month while Android users will get the new features during the final quarter of 2013.
